Obituary of Betty Loulene Nunley

 Coalmont – Mrs. Betty L. “Tarp” Short Nunley, 75, passed away, Wednesday August 1, 2018 in Sewanee, Tennessee with her children surrounding her bedside.  She was born in Coalmont, Tennessee on January 1, 1943 to George Short and Gladys Marie Smartt Short who preceded her in death along with her husband, Maxie Bruce Nunley; daughter, Penelope Nunley; grandson, Allan Lawson; brother, Jimmy Tarlton Short.

She attended the Orange Hill Methodist Church and the Calvary Baptist Church in Winchester.

She is survived by her daughters, Patty Ann Nunley, Peggy (Larry) Stanford, Paula Kate (Barry) Braden, Penny (Jr.) Dove and Candace (Jerry) Bone; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Joe Nunley and John Westerfield officiating with burial to follow in the Coalmont Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
