Obituary of Shirley Jean Rigsby Madewell

Spencer, TN-Mrs. Shirley Jean Rigsby Madewell, 71, passed from this life Wednesday September 26, 2018 at her home in Spencer, from an extended illness.  She was born on September 22, 1947 in McMinnville and was a long-time resident of Spencer.

She was of the Messianic Faith and a Homemaker.  She was a loving Mother and Grandmother and enjoyed being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother Dortha Lee Brock Rigsby, brother Rick Rigsby and sister Sandra Gay Rigsby.

She is survived by:  Her loving husband Ray Madewell, Sons; Kelly (Jorja) Madewell of Spencer, Marty (Christina) Madewell of Shelbyville, Daughter; Penny Sullivan of Spencer, Father; George Lee Rigsby Bothers; Jerry Rigsby, Mike (Beverly) Rigsby, Sister; Gwen Rigsby, Grandchildren; Megan and Kristen Brymer, Devon, Warren and Garrett Madewell, Great-grandchildren; Skylee Brymer and Lanie Kilgore; Sister-in-law Mary Lou Rigsby Prater and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral service will be Friday September 28, 2018 at 2:00PM in the Layne Funeral Home Chapel with Jay Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday September 27, 2018 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at Layne Funeral Home.
