Obituary of Anna Marie Yates
Spencer, TN-Anna Marie Yates, age 92, passed from this life Thursday August 5, 2021 at Generations of Spencer from an extended illness. A Van Buren County native, Anna was born on July 1, 1929 to the late William Glayds and Lillian Avo Morris Forsythe. She was a seamstress, homemaker, and a member of Spencer Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed socializing at the Van Buren County Senior Center with her friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband; James Lloyd Yates, brothers; Willie Joe and Woodrow Charles Forsythe and sister; Audrey Lee Simmons, great-granddaughter Isabella Yates.
Anna is survived by her loving family, daughter; Joyce Anne Kell of Lynn Haven, FL, son; James Dale (Teresa) Yates of Spencer, brother; Willard (Betty) Forsythe of Spencer, sister; Kaye (Richard) Clowdus of Cheyenne, WY, grandchildren; Regina (Jose) Raplee, Julie (Warren) Clark, Dustin (Rebecca) Yates, Ross (Heather) Yates, great-grandchildren; Nic (Doshia) Raplee, Alex and Tiffany Raplee, Sara, Emily and Taylor Clark, Savannah and Landon Yates, Maebry and Ryan Yates, great-great-grandson; Grayson O'Brien, special friend; Mamie Madewell. Many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be Tuesday August 10, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Dr. Freddie Harding, Bro. Mark Dickerson and Bro. Jordon Jared officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation time are; Monday August 9th 5:00pm to 9:00pm and Tuesday August 10th 10:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Spencer Town Cemetery Trust and Spencer Church of God of Prophecy.
