Obituary of Carl Bailey "Carly" Payne

Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee – Mr. Carl Bailey "Carly" Payne, 77, of Orleans, Indiana passed away at 4:16 AM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at IU Health Paoli Hospital in Orleans, Indiana.

He was born August 25, 1943, in Palmer, Tennessee, the son of Buddy and Lucy Mae (Green) Payne who preceded him in death along with his brother, Hershel Payne.

He owned Payne Vending for over thirty years. He enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, going to yard sales and auctions and he was a workaholic.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Terry Kroushauar Payne of Orleans; five children, Carly Wayne Payne of Gruetli Laager, TN, Shannon Fravel (Doug) of New Salsberry, IN, Jason Payne of Gruetli Laager, TN, Jared Payne (Lynn) of Gruetli Laager, TN and Tosha Grassman (Andrew) of Paoli; thirteen grandchildren; four siblings, Kenny Payne, Rachel (Benny) Burnett, Jewell Wells and Charles Payne.

Memorial services will be held 5:00 PM Sunday August 22, 2021 in the funeral home chapel.

Visitation: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
