Obituary of Debra Jane Whitman
Beersheba Springs, Tennessee – Mrs. Debra Jane Whitman, 70, passed away October 19, 2022 at the Manchester Health and Rehabilitation Center in Manchester, Tennessee. She was born in Manchester, Tennessee on October 11, 1952 to Lewis Edward Layne and Emma Jean Church Layne who preceded her in death along with her sister, Judy Ann Curtis.
She was a member of the Sweeton Hill 1st Congregational Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Whitman; daughters, Connie (Tim) Glass and Norma (Jim) Wanamaker; sons. Jeremy Meeks and Jesse (Jennifer) Meeks, Ethon (Sarah) Whitman Burns; brother, Larry (Debbie) Layne; sister, Darlene (Jerry) Seagroves; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Larry Campbell and John Potts officiating with burial to follow in the Bess King Whitman Cemetery.
Visitation: 4:00 – 9:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee.
