Spencer- Ms. Bettye Keener, age 74, passed away on July 30, 2016 at Life Care Center of Sparta.
Ms. Keener was born April 26, 1942 in Spencer to the late Lloyd Clendenen and the late Eula Hitchcock Clendenen.
She is survived by son, Kevin Keener and fiancée Amanda McCarver of Spencer; granddaughter, Paige Stephenson; brothers, Jewell Clendenen, Junior Clendenen, and Cleston Clendenen; sisters, Ruby Decoarsey and Jaunita Shockley; many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tim Keener; brothers Milton and Harold Clendenen; and sisters, Hazel Shockley, Francis Sullivan and Martha Hale.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 3 at Layne Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Freddy Savage officiating. Burial will follow at Molloy Cemetery. There will be a period of visitation with the family on Tuesday from 2 until 10 pm and again on Wednesday from 8 until time of service.
